As a nationally recognized Level One Trauma Center and one of the leaders on trauma survival, Denver Health is committed to providing trauma education to healthcare professionals throughout the Rocky Mountain region and beyond. Each month, Trauma Services is providing an hour-long trauma related educational presentation by a Denver Health provider where best practice guidelines, evidence-based findings, and management of the critically injured trauma patient will be discussed.

Objectives: 

  • Evaluate indications for anticoagulation reversal while discussing risks and benefits of therapy.
  • Describe mechanism of action and pharmacokinetics for anticoagulants and anticoagulant reversal agents.
  • Review current literature regarding the use and associated outcomes of anticoagulant reversal agents.
  • Select an appropriate anticoagulant reversal plan for a trauma patient.
