As we close out 2022 and start to think beyond the COVID-19 public health emergency, the question we ask ourselves is, “what’s next?”
COVID-19 has made an indelible mark on palliative care—and indeed on all of health care. As we look toward 2023, how should we synthesize our combined experiences of the pandemic? What is the state of our field, from our teams and services to the overall growth trajectory of palliative care? What is next in our movement within U.S. health care? How do we address the exhaustion and moral distress caused by COVID, while nourishing the passion for improving the patient and caregiver experiences that brought us to this work in the first place? How does this moment compare with other turning points in the history of our field?
Join CAPC CEO, Brynn Bowman, MPA, and Diane E. Meier, MD, founder, director emerita, and strategic medical advisor to CAPC, as they share their observations, insights, and outlook on palliative care—and CAPC’s focus for 2023.
