• Create policies and procedures to ensure that the hospital and medical staff meet EMTALA requirements.

​​​​The Information Blocking Rule creates a paradigm shift on how medical professionals are required to respond to requests for copies of medical and billing records from patients, health care providers, and others who should have access. This seminar will review the requirements of the new rule, discuss potential trouble areas, and highlight ways to maintain compliance.

• Demonstrate and review obligations of clinicians and non-clinicians to patients under the Cures Act statutes and regulations.
• Discuss recent changes, modifications, and updates to the privacy and security protections for health information established under the Cures Act.
• Highlight key areas to ensure all those who care for patients are complying with the Cures Act.
• Illustrate and identify examples and issues where violations may occur.

HIPAA Basics: What Every Provider Should Know and Understand

Dive into the world of HIPAA rules and regulations and learn how to prevent violations and errors. This is a great program for training and annual review education.

• Define the basic outline of the administrative simplification rules.

• Reevaluate your compliance process in relation to interpretation of guidelines.
• Identify new rules and regulations from the federal government.
