Meet Team SDAHO: Becky Heisinger, Director of Quality Integrations

The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) is a voice for our state’s hospitals and healthcare organizations encompassing the full continuum of care. SDAHO serves its members through information, education, advocacy, and quality.

Becky Heisinger is the Director of the Quality Integration Department at SDAHO, which has three full-time staff members, including herself that represent all of South Dakota. “I have the privilege to work with our two clinical improvement consultants. I oversee the activities that they do with our contracted work. I also drive the strategic plan for SDAHO to increase awareness about quality in our hospitals.” Becky Heisinger, MBA, PMP, CGMS, CPHQ, Dir. Quality Integration, SDAHO

In addition, Becky manages grant funding for SDAHO, with six grants currently in place. “That is one of my areas of expertise, it’s one of the main reasons I came to SDAHO to use that skill set. So I oversee those activities to make sure we are in compliance with all federal and state regulations.” Becky Heisinger, MBA, PMP, CGMS, CPHQ, Dir. Quality Integration, SDAHO

Becky attended Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota where she earned a business degree and earned her Masters from the University of Sioux Falls. She grew up in Nebraska and continues to cheer on the Nebraska Cornhuskers, “Go Big Red” Becky Heisinger, MBA, PMP, CGMS, CPHQ, Dir. Quality Integration, SDAHO

Becky has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years, starting off in a mail order pharmacy position. She would then transition into the insurance arena, and later Becky worked for two of our state’s largest healthcare systems in various roles. SDAHO welcomed Becky to the team in 2021, under the same position she holds today. “In my role at SDAHO, I have really tried to grow the grant arena. That is one piece at SDAHO I have worked hard at, making sure we are staying in compliance but also looking for new funding sources for this organization.” Becky Heisinger, MBA, PMP, CGMS, CPHQ, Dir. Quality Integration, SDAHO

Working for a smaller organization like SDAHO is one think Becky has come to appreciate while with the association. “I enjoy having that connection with people,  and helping them grow professionally g. In this position I support  two really talented nurses grow which is really rewarding for me.” Becky says SDAHO is a remarkable organization with an abundance of education and training that is stellar compared to other organizations. “The advocacy piece and the quality piece and there are just great people that work here really striving for the best for our members every single day. We all continue to push to be an advocate for our members and be on their side providing resources to make their lives easier.” Becky Heisinger, MBA, PMP, CGMS, CPHQ, Dir. Quality Integration, SDAHO

When Becky is not working, she enjoys spending time with her  family. She and her husband have two children who are both in college. Becky enjoys “Cutler” the family dog. Recently, Becky has appreciated reading mindset and professional development books, as she works on developing her own leadership skills.
