Pilot Grant Program – 2025 Request for Applications
The IMPACT Collaboratory is pleased to announce a Request for Applications for the 2025 Pilot Grants Program.
The National Institute on Aging (NIA) Imbedded Pragmatic Alzheimer’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease-Related Dementias (AD/ADRD) Clinical Trials (IMPACT) Collaboratory (U54AG063546) was established in 2019 to build the nation’s capacity to conduct embedded pragmatic clinical trials (ePCTs) of non-pharmacological interventions within health care systems to improve the care of people living with dementia (PLWD) and their care partners.
The IMPACT Collaboratory will fund up to three awards for pilot pragmatic clinical trials (ePCTs) that that are designed to demonstrate the feasibility and inform the design of a future full-scale ePCT (Stage IV effectiveness based on the NIH Stage Model) to evaluate non-pharmacological interventions embedded in health care system(s) for PLWD and their care partners.
Awards are for 18 months, up to $300,000 (total direct costs), and are non-renewable. Read the full RFA here.

Interested applicants are required to submit an LOI. LOIs are accepted on a rolling basis through: Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 11:59pm ET - Full Proposals (By invitation only)
Applications selected for further consideration will be invited to submit a full proposal due: Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 11:59pm ET.

- Knowledge Repository – Get access to a growing collection of IMPACT resources to help build the nation’s capacity to conduct ePCTs within health care systems for PLWD and their care partners.
- Training Modules – Designed to engage and educate the research community and other key stakeholders that are interested in conducting ePCTs among PLWD and their care partners.
*South Dakota’s Department of Health received a 5 year Building Our Largest Dementia Infrastructure (BOLD) grant to develop and implement a prevention program centered around Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD). They have partnered with several organizations around the state to form the Healthy Brain Coalition to help with this work.
