The Department of Social Services (DSS) will receive $2 million from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to assist South Dakotans dealing with mental health issues and substance use disorders due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The grant funds will be allocated to currently contracted substance use and community mental health centers and will be used for: Outpatient mental health and substance use disorder services, Infrastructure to build and support telehealth capacity, Personal protective equipment, Emergency services funding and Recovery support services.
