SDAHO Announces Keynote Speakers for 2022 Post-Acute Partners in Care Conference

The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations is excited to announce this year’s keynote speakers for the 2022 Post-Acute Partners in Care conference. Opening this year’s conference will be Keynote Speaker: Juli Burney, an award winning motivational humorist and communication specialist. The closing Keynote speaker is Jim “The Rookie” Morris, from the Disney movie “The Rookie” Staring Dennis Quaid.

Hailing from Lincoln, Nebraska Juli Burney is a motivational humorist, assistant professor, and author. She has worked in all 48 continental United States and Canada and has been commissioned by a variety of associations from the National Endowment for the Arts to Fortune 500 companies to develop training programs that stick. She has filmed for Showtime and HBO, along with making numerous guest appearances on radio and television programs. Juli will share her presentation: “Just a Spoonful of Humor” with attendees to help them see that humor is the key to balance and just a spoonful of humor can change everything. Juli will share specific care giving examples that further highlight how a different perspective brought with humor can improve both the patient’s and the care giver’s situation.

Jim “The Rookie” Morris will close the convention with his personal story of leadership and dedication. Jim is best known for his rise from teacher to a flame throwing, major league pitcher for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Jim’s Cinderella story made cinematic history when Disney made a move about his life. His story serves as testimony to the power of dreams and their ability to inspire and transform human life. His own story has become an inspiration to anyone interested in overcoming life’s obstacles and living their dreams. Jim visited with SDAHO about his trip to South Dakota and what he hopes participants will take from his appearance. Particpants will also have the chance to win an autographed baseball jersey from Jim.

This years Post-Acute Care Conference is April 13 and 14 in Sioux Falls at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Participants will have the opportunity to pick from several sessions in the area of Nursing Home, Assisted Living, Home Health & Hospice, and Nurse Leadership.
