What is Project ECHO?
Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is an innovative tele-mentoring program designed to create virtual communities of learners by bringing together healthcare providers and subject matter experts using videoconference technology, brief lecture presentations, and case-based learning, fostering an βall learn, all teachβ approach and democratization of knowledge. Participants are engaged in the bi-directional virtual knowledge network by sharing clinical challenges and learning from experts and peers.Β The heart of the ECHO modelβ’ is its hub-and-spoke knowledge-sharing networks, led by expert teams who use multi-point videoconferencing to conduct virtual clinics with community providers.
