Project ECHO Equity Miniseries – Ethical Dilemmas Across Health Equity

The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) is hosting a Project ECHO summer miniseries on ethical dilemmas across health equity. Sessions take place every Tuesday from July 23 to August 27 at 2pm CST/1pm MST.
This six-session series will examine ethical decision-making and equity in hospice and palliative care. Topics will include building an ethical organizational culture, recognizing and addressing ethical dilemmas, and navigating the complexities of equitable ethics in pediatric care. The sessions will explore the challenges of appointed guardianship, confront real-life ethical dilemmas, and conduct comprehensive ethics reviews.

What is Project ECHO?

Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is an innovative tele-mentoring program designed to create virtual communities of learners by bringing together healthcare providers and subject matter experts using videoconference technology, brief lecture presentations, and case-based learning, fostering an β€œall learn, all teach” approach and democratization of knowledge. Participants are engaged in the bi-directional virtual knowledge network by sharing clinical challenges and learning from experts and peers.Β  The heart of the ECHO modelβ„’ is its hub-and-spoke knowledge-sharing networks, led by expert teams who use multi-point videoconferencing to conduct virtual clinics with community providers.
