The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on May 3 released the federal fiscal year (FFY) 2018 proposed payment rule for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) Prospective Payment System (PPS).
The proposed rule reflects the annual update to the Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) IRF payment rates and policies.

Program changes proposed by CMS would be effective for discharges on or after October 1, 2017, unless otherwise noted. Comments on the proposed rule are due to CMS by June 26 and can be submitted electronically at by visiting this website and using the search feature to search for file code “1671-P.”
SDAHO will be sending out the IRF analysis. The analysis is intended to show members how Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) payments would change from FFY 2017 to FFY 2018 based on the policies recommended in the FFY 2018 IRF proposed rule.
