The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has reported higher than normal health plan enrollment numbers during the first two weeks of the open enrollment period. Through Nov. 11 there were nearly 1.5 million enrollments, with 345,719 of those being new enrollees.
Consumers can find enrollment information, including various plan options, pricing and other tools, on www.getcoveredsouthdakota.org, as well as at www.healthcare.gov.
The Community Healthcare Association of the Dakotas (CHAD) has created digital ads that can be used on social media to help get the word out about open enrollment. If you use the ads, please link them back to the www.getcoveredsouthdakota.org website.
The open enrollment period has been shortened to 45 days this year. The last day is Dec. 15.
