Overview: 

CMS publishes F-tag citation rates nationally, regionally and by the State. By knowing the trending focus of CMS and State agencies, long-term care facilities can be more prepared by more closely reviewing systems in those areas. Presenter, Patrick Campbell is an active surveyor with over 20 years of survey experience. This session will review regional and national deficiency rates and detail types of deficient practice seen. Strategies to stay in compliance will be discussed. There will also be an open question and answer session to discuss general survey issues.

Presenter: Patrick Campbell, RN BSN, Training Coordinator, CertiSurv, LLC

Patrick Campbell has more than 18 years of experience as a surveyor of Long-Term Care, Assisted Living and Intermediate Care facilities. This includes training new surveyors and managing Independent Dispute Resolution appeals. He has over seven years of experience managing national accounts, and maintaining relationships with corporate staff to provide guidance and data on managing quality assurance across multiple regions and States nationwide.

Mr. Campbell has ten years of experience training, implementing and providing support for hundreds of long-term care centers utilizing survey preparation/quality assurance software. He is certified as 1 of 10 QIS Master Trainers by CMS. Assisted training surveyors in 15 States and multiple CMS regional offices. He passed the federal qualification test (SMQT) to work independently as a surveyor showing in depth knowledge of federal regulations. He is also licensed as a Registered Nurse since 1993 with experience as an ADON and DON in LTC
