Overview:

Health care continues to see eroding margins, and the pandemic crisis has created new focus. Through the use of data analytics, benchmarking and executing a systematic strategic plan, a clear path can be established to improved workforce performance and staffing solutions. The importance of analytics, operational efficiency planning, and ongoing monitoring will give participants tools to address improving profitability. Case study’s will be reviewed to assist participants.

Objectives:
  • Develop, prioritize, and align workforce productivity improvement initiatives with board, leadership, management and staff, achieving accountability and sustainability.
  • Participants will increase their understanding in workforce productivity benchmarking analytics
  • Developing and use of data, analytics, and dashboards assisting in data driven decisions for improved efficiencies throughout the organization
  • Explore use of data to establish solutions to minimize need for contract staffing

Presenter:

Kevin Rash, Director, FORVIS

Kevin Rash is a member of the FORVIS Health Care Performance Advisory Services division.  He leverages his clinical insight and leadership experience to help health care providers improve their processes, create efficiencies, and navigate major initiatives without costly operational disruptions.  Kevin also assists clients in margin improvement with operational flow, cost structure management, workforce productivity, clinical and operational strategy.  In addition, he has the experience from two specialty hospital builds, an Orthopedic, followed by a Rehabilitation Hospital to create programs to serve communities and population needs. He has multiple surgery center builds and established surgical excellence programs in all settings.

Prior to joining FORVIS, he worked in a variety of provider settings, including hospitals, trauma centers, integrated health systems and physician clinics.  He has more than 25 years of experience in health care, including overseeing a rehabilitation program as a physical therapist and serving as the vice president of operations at a large integrated health care system.  In addition to the daily oversight of surgical services, supply chain, rehabilitation operations, and surgical clinics, including anesthesia.  He was responsible for leading large improvement initiatives for the system.

Kevin shares his industry experience by presenting at various industry events on topics including joint ventures, operational and margin improvement, staffing and workforce of tomorrow, and surgical services excellence.

He is an active member of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and Missouri State University CRNA Advisory Committee and a past member of the board of directors of Missouri Healthcare Executive Group.  He is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow (FACHE).

He is a 1991 graduate of The University of Nebraska at Kearney, and a 1993 graduate of Wichita State University, with a Master of Physical Therapy degree.
