Overview:
Presenter, Sydnie Gamroth, will share the barriers to seeking mental health care, signs of depression and will introduce the proper terminology regarding the topic of suicide. This session will go over mental health statistics and the impact of mental health issues, as well as resources related to suicidal ideation. Participants attending this session will understand the prevalence of mental health issues in the United States and within South Dakota.

Sydnie Gamroth, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Oyate Health
Sydnie Gamroth was born and raised in Rapid City, SD and still resides in the area with her husband and 3 kids. Sydnie has been a nurse for 16 years and a nurse practitioner for 11 months. She currently works for Oyate Behavioral Health serving her Native American relatives. Sydnie is passionate about mental health and wellness and enjoys the privilege of assisting with the needs of the community every day.
