Overview:

This presentation will include an overview of the treatment resources for both mental health and substance use disorders that are available through the state funded behavioral health system in South Dakota. 

Objectives:
  • Attendees will learn about how to access the publicly funded behavioral health system and the populations served within that system. 
  • Attendees will learn about the array of mental health treatment services that are available through the Division of Behavioral Health. 
  • Attendees will learn about the array of substance use treatment services that are available through the Division of Behavioral Health. 
Presenters:

Andrea HeronimusAndrea currently serves as the Mental Health Services Program Manager with the Department of Social Services, Division of Behavioral Health where she oversees services delivered by South Dakota’s 11 Community Mental Health Centers. Prior to that, she worked at a Community Mental Health Center in Sioux Falls for nearly 18 years, where she delivered services to Adults with serious mental illness providing case management, oversight of the Health Home and First Episode Psychosis Programs, as well as providing liaison services to the community behavioral health hospital. Prior to moving to South Dakota in 2001, Andrea worked at a mental health agency in the Twin Cities providing supported employment, housing, and case management services for individuals with serious mental illness. 

Stacy KrallStacy has worked as the Addiction Program lead for the past four years with the Division of Behavioral Health. In this capacity, Stacy provides technical assistance to substance use agencies across the state, provides oversight of the Division of Behavioral Health’s referrals and prior authorization for intensive inpatient treatment for adults and adolescents, inpatient and residential services for pregnant women and women with dependent children, and intensive methamphetamine treatment services. Stacy has been working closely with the Intensive Methamphetamine Treatment providers for implementing programming that aligns with best practices for treatment of stimulant use disorders. Stacy oversees projects related to the Medication Assisted Treatment, Peer Recovery Support, and Project ECHOs.

Registration for this webinar is per connection needed at a facility. This allows multiple staff members to participate in the education using one connection. Prior registration is required to ensure connection information and applicable materials are distributed prior to the webinar.
