Event Details

Social supports are an integral tool in improving patient outcomes. Join us to hear why 300,000 patients and families turn to CaringBridge each day for support on health journeys. Since 1997, the CaringBridge communications platform has preserved critical personal connections by mobilizing a patient’s community to surround a patient and family caregiver with social, emotional, and instrumental support. Without personal social connections in a hospital or during recovery, a patient can easily become isolated and lonely, which can lead to serious health complications.

Tia Newcomer, CEO, CaringBridge, will share how the platform works and how it enhances patient health outcomes by mobilizing social connections. Also joining Newcomer from CaringBridge’s hospital partner, UMass Memorial Medical Center, is Alicia Wierenga, Senior Director of Patient- Family-Centered Care; and Billie Adler, Patient Experience Director of Patient- Family-Centered Care. Wierenga and Adler will share how CaringBridge supports their patient- and family-centered care approach and the various programming implemented to elevate the resource to their care teams, patients, and family caregivers at the point of need.
