Overview

Today’s need for physical distance leads many Seniors to feel socially and mentally isolated.  Finding meaningful ways to help folks connect during these difficult times can help support the health and well-being for those we care for.

We all understand the importance of helping our individuals stay mentally engaged and socially stimulated, but at times it can be challenging.  Many times, it requires us to use our ingenuity and creativity to provide programming & activities that fulfills the needs!

This presentation will focus on ways to engage and connect seniors, using programming ideas that have worked at Active Generations and we will share how the ideas could be adapted for your situation. We can learn from each other!  Come with ideas that have worked for you!

Presenter

Nancy Wehrkamp is currently the Director of Programming at Active Generations in Sioux Falls. She has focused much of her professional life on education (as an administrator, teacher, adult educator, and counselor – working with early childhood up to currenting working with senior programming).
