Strategies to Reduce Workplace Violence Against Caregivers

Overview:

This program will focus on Workplace Violence for Monument Health System. By utilizing data, resources and strategies can be utilized in the high need areas for reduction in workplace violence. Not only will this presentation focus on the data, but the strategies which have been implemented to include reactive and proactive approaches.

Brian Blenner, BA Criminal Justice / Sociology, MS Leadership and Management. I have recently retired as a Patrol Lt. at the Rapid City Police Department. During that time I have served many roles to include School Liaison, Lead Firearms Instructor, K9 Supervisor, Team Leader Special Response Team Negotiators, and supervisor of the School Liaison Program. After retirement, (2 days) I started at Monument Health as the Safety Services Director. This is a unique experience for a Health Care environment as strategies utilized for crime reduction are brought into the health care.
