CDC launches antibiotic stewardship online course

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Office of Antibiotic Stewardship released the first in a four-part online training course on antibiotic stewardship. Additional segments will be released later this year.

Completing the free training counts as an improvement activity under Medicare’s new Merit-based Incentive Payment System for clinicians. It also qualifies for certain continuing education credit. For additional antibiotic stewardship resources see CDC guidance for small and critical access hospitals developed with AHA and the Pew Charitable Trusts.
