The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) is excited to announce Becky Heisinger, Director of Quality Integration, has been selected to serve on the National Grants Management Association (NGMA) inaugural Certification Council.
NGMA is recognized throughout the grants management community as the membership association leader providing tools and resources for grants professionals to support and maintain high levels of grants management competency and to establish standards of excellence for grants managers. The Certification Council is a division of NGMA formed to independently govern, oversee, and manage the certification program. The council consist of nine (9) voting members, seven (7) active CGMS holders, one (1) voting member appointed by the NGMA Board and one (1) voting public member. The primary focus of the Council is oversight of the CGMS certification program, including the development and administration of the examination.
To be selected, recipients must meet both educational and professional requirements, and submit an application. Nominations were then made by a Certification Nominating Committee, with selections taking place in early March. Becky has worked in the healthcare industry for over 22 years with 14 of those years specializing in grant and project management. Prior to SDAHO, she worked at Sanford Health as the Supervisor of the Grants Office. Becky as served as the Director of Quality Integration for SDAHO since July of 2021, where she provides oversight for the organizations grant awards which include a mix of state, federal and private funds. She also works closely with the Clinical Improvement Team to help promote hospital best practices as the department assists with clinical initiatives that improve quality in member facilities statewide.
SDAHO Members and non-members can join Becky on March 29th as she presents “The ABC’s of Grants Management Part 1”. This SDAHO sponsored webinar is the first of three sessions on grants management. This first session is an introduction to grants and will provide attendees with an overview of the grant industry, differences between the pre and the post award and what an organization needs to be aware of to be successful in grant management.
