We urge your support for the bipartisan Save America’s Rural Hospitals Act, H.R. 6400. This legislation introduced by Representative Sam Graves (R-MO) and Jared Huffman (D-CA) provides a pathway to address many challenges that rural healthcare facilities face. We applaud the inclusion of provisions to permanently eliminate Medicare sequestration for rural hospitals, to make permanent the three percent for rural and 22.6 percent super rural ground ambulance plus-up payments, the reinstatement of cost-based reimbursement for provider-based RHCs in exchange for participation in quality reporting, and the reauthorization of the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program.
